from 'Nurturing the Inner Life' by Pastor Ho

the many things and the one thing
waiting by the Lord will we find those things that are necessary for us to work from the rested inner-being

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
- Ephesian 2:10

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.
- Psalms 91:1-2

resting comes from trusting God.

what is the condition of my inner life: garden or a desert?

Invitation to the Thirsty

1 "Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.

2 Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.

3 Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live.

- Isaiah 55:1-3

2.motivation - callings, intentions, primary focus, why do we do what we do?,

3. preoccupation - what are schedules, routines, time mgmt,

4. contemplation - what do you think about?, personal meditation, what do we read? how knowledge is integrated?,

5. restorations - rest, recuperation. emotional, spiritual, physical reserves. how our soul is taken care of?
